Our Story

In our individualistic society, typical to feel disconnected from ancient wisdom and fragmented within ourselves. Many of us have been conditioned to compete, criticize, and feel jealousy, losing sight of our own wholeness and potential.

Olivia and Anisha bonded over their mutual desire to use ancient Vedic wisdom to heal modern suffering—both individual and collective. They created Shakti Healing Collective as a space where Anisha’s deep knowledge of Vedic philosophy and yoga’s physical postures (asana) and Olivia’s intimate knowledge of Kundalini Yoga and Depth Psychology could come together. The result is a unique and powerful combination of ancient and modern, Indian and Euro-American.

Shakti Healing Collective creates an opportunity to reconnect with our innate wisdom and recognize our completeness through The Shakti Healing Podcast, in-person gatherings, and one-on-one services. By embodying both the nurturing side of Durga and the transformative power of Kali, we bridge the gaps in our growth, allowing us to grieve, heal, and ultimately embrace all parts of ourselves.

Healing happens through community, and this collective empowers individuals not only to support others but to experience mutual growth. Here, even mentors learn and evolve, creating a nurturing environment where everyone contributes to each other’s healing journey.

Anisha Goel

500-hour certified Hatha yoga teacher

As one of my gurus once shared, achieving balance in mind, body, and soul requires nurturing three distinct pursuits: one for sustenance, another for physical fitness, and a third to bring joy to the spirit. Embracing this philosophy, I am a Computer Engineer specializing in cameras and color science, a dedicated practitioner of Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda, and a passionate advocate for sharing the wisdom I have gathered along my journey.

My education at an Anglo-Vedic school provided me with a unique blend of pious Vedic teachings alongside modern science and mathematics, deeply embedding in me both traditional values and contemporary knowledge. Since my earliest years, my parents and gurus have enriched my life with ancient chronicles, mantras, a Sattvic diet, and a profound understanding of self.

Three years ago, I faced a significant challenge when a paragliding accident resulted in five fractures—three in my spine and two in my pelvis. With the unwavering support of my teachers and my commitment to practice, I not only recovered from my injuries but also found myself mastering advanced yoga asanas. This recovery stands as a testament to the profound effectiveness and enduring power of our ancient practices.

I am more than just a Hindu, a computer engineer, or a Vedic scholar; I strive to be a beacon of embodied truth and light, carrying forward the wisdom and values imparted to me, and sharing this journey with those who seek to connect with the essence of Indian Vedic culture.

My story is a common one–at least the beginning of it. The path I took and where it would lead me is perhaps less common, but only because I walked it with complete conviction and dedication. The personal transformation that occurred along the way has inspired me to share the tools I found and guide others who are ready to have a different experience of life and self.

Throughout my teenage years and my early twenties I was wild with emotion–passion, rage, sadness–and succumbed to substances to numb it all away. When I was 19, someone once told me that I was the most self-destructive person they had ever met, while also being destructive to everyone around me. I was guarded and toxic…and in so much pain. I was plagued with depression, anxiety, and self-loathing.

Although I grew up in a “spiritual but not religious” household, all the “change your thinking, change your life” mantras couldn’t help me overcome the deep pain I felt inside. Then one day in my college apartment, I tried kundalini yoga on YouTube for the first time. Within ten minutes I fell to my knees and cried. I knew immediately that this was the thing that was going to change my life. I found an in-person class, and within months I was completely sober and alive with possibility. For the first time, I felt in command of my life.

After a couple of years, I became a certified kundalini yoga instructor. I realized that many of my students were just like me–searching for another way to experience life. I also realized that many of my students were just like me in that they had unintegrated trauma. This inspired me to go back to school to get my PhD in Depth Psychology (psychology of the unconscious) to make my approach to spirit and psyche more effective.

Sacred Psyche Coaching is the amalgam of my psychological expertise, my yogic training in kundalini yoga and Sat Nam Rasayan, and my own spiritual journey back to loving myself.
